Food is Fun

Hi Granny! Today was my 6 month appointment with Dr. Hsu. The bad news is they gave me shots. The good news is they cleared me to eat real food!

I think my Mom was a little nervous. She took all of my clothes off and put only a bib on me.

My Mom made me sweet potatoes. I wasn't sure if I was going to like them.

But they were SO good.

I took a quick break to eat my hand.

And then I took control of the spoon.

I tried to save some for later (I even put some on my shoulder), but my Dad cleaned me all up.

Hopefully there will be more tomorrow.

I love you, Granny!

  1. Isn't every day wonderful? You are lucky to eat sweet potato first! Years ago it would have been a mushy colorless pablum. I love you, Sabrina Clare.

  2. Hi Great Mama! My Mom and I didn't know what pablum was and had to look it up on Wikipedia! It sounds yucky, especially compared to the sweet potatoes that my Mom baked and pureed for me.

    I love you!

  3. Who wouldn't love sweet potatoes?!?! Next you've got to give her the southern sweet potatoes from the BBQ place!

P.S. Dave says thanks for the sauce. Can't wait to try it out!

  4. Dear Annie,

We miss you a lot around here. Things are way more fun when you are visiting. My Dad now refers to the guest bedroom as "Annie's Room."

I hope you had fun in St. Thomas!

    Love,
    Sabrina

  5. Hi Sabrina!

I can't wait to meet you tomorrow!

First off, I have to tell you that if you enjoyed the sweet potatoes, you are going to LOVE the bananas I'm bringing.

Second, I've got a BUNCH of stuff for you. I think your mom is going to like all of it more than you. But she might not appreciate how much room it is going to take up in your suitcase. That's ok, though. Big sisters can do that kind of stuff. You'll understand someday. There's certain things we big sisters can get away with, no matter how old we are.

Third, this is our weekend. No boys. Your mom, Sydney, Devon, and I do this every year and it is really special. We're so excited that you get to have fun with us. You're going to have to wait 20 1/2 years for the fun beer part. But I promise the shopping, food, and talking will keep you satisfied. Until you're old enough for beer. Don't worry, I don't let Sydney and Devon have any, either.

I love you and I can't wait until tomorrow!

    Love, Aunt Nicole

P.S. I had to use Uncle Phillip's account to post a comment because I don't have a gmail account.

  6. Hi Aunt Nicole! I am SO excited to meet you! My Mom has been super excited all week. She promises that I am going to like you a LOT.

My Mom seems to like beer - maybe it runs in the family? I see Uncle Ryan drink a lot of beer. We can discuss this more tomorrow.

    I love you!

    Love,
    Sabrina
